How often do I get paid?
Pony Xpress associates are paid bi-weekly on Friday’s.
What benefits will I have as an employee?
Pony Xpress offers several benefits! These include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Accident Insurance. New associates are eligible for these insurance plans the first of the month following 30 days of employment. We also offer a 401k with Company match. Eligibility to enroll in 401k is bi-annual after the associate has reached 90 days of employment.
What is the company vacation policy?
Pony Xpress Delivery offers PTO (paid time off) to every associate, and accrual of PTO starts day one. Associates are eligible to use the PTO they have in their accrual bank for vacation, sick time, or personal use. During holiday time late in the year, which is our busy season, we do have restrictions in place where associates may not take PTO during certain time frames. We communicate these time frames well in advance.
Will I have to work holidays?
Pony Xpress Delivery operates 361 days a year. Each individual line of business follows their own holiday schedule (FedEx vs Amazon). You may be scheduled to work a holiday.
What are the requirements to drive for Pony Xpress/Fed Ex delivery?
To be a delivery driver for our Fed Ex business, you must take the required training to become certified to drive this vehicle and have your Medical Examiner’s Certificate in addition to a valid driver’s license.
What are the requirements to drive for Pony Xpress/Amazon Freight Partner
To drive for our line haul operation for Amazon, you must have your CDL, and your Medical Examiner’s Certificate. We require at least one (1) year of commercial driving experience to be considered for this position.
What are the requirements to drive for Pony Xpress / FedEx Linehaul?
For the FedEx linehaul business, you must be at least 21 years old, and have a valid commercial driver’s license and be doubles endorsed. You must also have 1 year’s experience in the last 3 years or 5 years in the last 10 years. You must take the required training to become certified to drive this vehicle and have your Medical Examiner’s Certificate in addition to a valid driver’s license
Is training provided for the FedEx package delivery position?
Yes, for FedEx package delivery the training consists of five (5) days of training in both a classroom setting and on-road training. You must pass the written test and the on-road test to be certified as a driver. This training is paid.
What can I expect for the number of stops or packages in a typical day?
Routes can range from 120 – 150 stops per day, and between 100 – 200 packages per route, depending on the location, time of year, and other factors. Shifts are scheduled as 8 hour work days, with approximately 6.5 hours on the road delivering.
What is a typical schedule and shift in the Amazon linehaul business?
Full-time drivers can work a three (3) day work week, scheduled 13 hours per shift. Additional shifts may be available, in keeping with DOT guidelines.
What is a typical schedule and shift in the FedEx linehaul business?
Our FedEx drivers are typically scheduled four to five (4-5) days per week. We operate 7 days each week. Fed Ex drivers are paid an hourly rate for each day worked. This position is exempt. Overtime is earned after 40 hours/week. Our week runs from Sunday to Saturday.
Would I be considered a contractor or an employee of Pony Xpress?
All positions with Pony Xpress are W2 employee positions.
What does the hiring process look like?
We accept applications through our website and through our job postings on career sites as well. Typically, a pre-screen call and/or live interview is one of the first steps. All associates regardless of position applying for must successfully complete a background check. For driving positions, valid licenses are required for the type of vehicle to be operated. Drivers for all Pony Xpress businesses are required to take and pass pre-employment drug screens.
Are the delivery vehicles well-maintained?
Our fleet for all Pony Xpress businesses are meticulously maintained and serviced to ensure they are in compliance and safe to operate every time they go out on the road. The safety of our associates is the number one priority of Pony Xpress.
